I have a chance to purchase a B6200 for under $5000. Th etractor is clean, runs well, has less than 800 hours and includes 60"deck and rear blade. Is this fair? does the B6200 have a good reputation?

Yes, dude. My B6200 has countless hours, it's 20 years old and performs as well as when it was new. I would not trust the 800 hours, those hour-ometers turn over at 1000 and the B6200's are all at least 20 years old, so yours might have 1800 hours or 2800 hours or 3000000800 hours. It doesn't matter, the engines last forever. Other things die sooner, like the hydraulic hoses, the seat, the paint job. But the enigine is a rock.
$5000 is a good price if it runs well and doesn't need work. ....

Hey John...Are the B6200's reputable?
Though there are exceptions to the rule, any Bxx00 series tractor, especially of the B5200,6200,7200,8200 family as Morgan wrote are rocks. They simply are work horses for the size tractor. One correction, the B6200 was produced from about 1983 upto 1995. Check on the left side of the transmission/drive housing for serial number, and feed it back to me. I'll let you know what year it is. $5000.00 with attachments...not bad depending on its condition. You did not mention whether it was a gear shift or hydro, 2wd or 4wd...all are key factors. Let us know.
